DIY Painted Deer Shed Decor

Hello all!
While I love sharing my DIY projects with you, I really love it when I get to share the creative work of a friend!!! Today’s post is from the same crafty friend that showed me how to make the painter’s drop cloth curtains. If you missed that project you can read about it here. Anyway, so my friend Bridget made these very chic yet adorable deer sheds for her son’s “big boy room” and paired them with some silver animal heads that she found at Marshall’s ….
She used a mounted pair of deer sheds that she already owned and painted them with chrome spray paint from Lowe’s, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White, and some gold paint from Hobby Lobby. She used painters tape to mark the lines and create stripes on the horns. |
paint colors on the wall are Relaxed Khaki and not sure about the blue but will find out soon (both by Sherwin Williams) |
I love this idea because it’s simple, easy, inexpensive, and good looking for any room in your house! I think our son would love to have something like this in his “big boy room” and I plan to add this project to my list for 2016! I’m thinking these decorative deer horns would also look good on top of a coffee table book, as part of a table centerpiece, and/or in an office!
If you are interested but don’t have any deer sheds laying around, I’ve seen several different kinds of faux animal antlers at Homegoods, Target, TJMaxx, and Hobby Lobby.
Send me pictures if you make some decorative antler decor for your home!
I can't wait to see what you do with H's "big boy" room 🙂
