New Year, New Fridge Coasters!

Hello lovelys!!!

I hope your year is off to a great start! I’ve been away from the blog much longer than I intended. Just when I thought things would slow down after the holidays, Mardi Gras arrived and our calendar is slammed again. But that’s a good problem to have and I am thankful!

In the beginning of every new year, I join the masses in an organizing frenzy! It never fails, as soon as we return to a somewhat normal routine, after Christmas, I get bit by the nesting bug and feel this overwhelming need to organize, re-organize, purge, and label my entire house! It just so happened, around the same time that I got an email from the wonderful Fridge Coaster company asking if I was ready for a new set of Fridge Coasters. If you are new to the blog and missed our original posts on Fridge Coasters you can read about them here and here. To give you a quick re-cap, Fridge Coaster is a fabulous company that makes beautiful coasters to line the shelves of your refrigerator and keep food fresh, soak up spills, and allow your fridge to stay looking clean and pristine!

I absolutely love this company and their product for so many reasons so of course I was ready for some more Fridge Coasters! Only this time I wanted to share the love!  Fridge Coaster just came out with their new line of coasters for Sub-Zero Refrigerators and I really wanted to try them out!!! We don’t have a sub-zero refrigerator but my in-laws do in their fabulous new kitchen that I have been wanting to show you anyways so it worked out perfect!! I also figured, sharing Fridge Coasters would be a great way to re-pay my in-laws for hosting the family circus (aka The Hot Mess Express) in their home ALL the time!

First, let me give you a little back story on the house. My in-laws just recently moved into their “forever” house a little over 2 years ago. Within 24 hours of signing the paperwork and before moving in (thank God!) the house got struck by lightning, starting a horrific fire in the attic, and almost burned to the ground!!!  At the time it was VERY shocking and devastating as you can imagine, but they were so lucky to have not lost any valuable or personal items because they hadn’t moved in yet.  Also, no one was in the house when the lightning struck so for that we are truly thankful!!!  Their original plans were to do some “light” remodeling, maybe a bathroom, few tweaks to the kitchen, and paint.  Well the damage from the fire, smoke, and water used to put it out, caused mass destruction and they basically had to re-do something if not everything in every single room!  It was a stressful and heart breaking time but it really worked out for the best because they ended up with the most BEAUTIFUL home to host grandchildren and grow old in together!

Here are some photos of the kitchen… ITS TO DIE FOR…

GORGEOUS right??  Ok and this is their sub-zero fridge that I had the pleasure of working with…

Now, before I show you the inside, I have to say, upon taking these photos my in-laws had just returned from a week away caring for their 3rd and newest grandbaby, so the inside of their fridge was not what it typically looks like. My mother in-law is a neat freak and usually has everything lined up perfectly with zero smudges and no expired dates! (She had an inspector nickname when raising her children.) Another reason why I knew she would love and appreciate Fridge Coasters

So to start, we took everything out, got in there with wet paper towels and wiped down all of the shelves and prepped the surfaces for the new Fridge Coasters. SUCH a good feeling to have a newly organized, clean fridge! I am obsessed with the way it came out!!!!!!!!

The gray quatrefoil pattern was a good choice for this fridge because it pairs nicely with the grays and whites of the kitchen. Fridge Coasters come in several fun patterns and colors.

Before inserting this Fridge Coaster, the chicken was in a grocery bag to avoid any access juice from dripping onto the shelf. Now with a Fridge Coaster, the chicken can be easily displayed and they don’t have to worry about chicken juice leaking out and causing salmonella. GROSS! If any leaks were to occur, the Fridge Coaster would soak it all up and could be easily discarded and replaced without spreading any germs!

I ESPECIALLY love the drawer liners…

  1. Thanks for this article I found it very informative and useful. Your fridge looks much better as it is a lot lighter and more organised. You have a lovely kitchen. I have also decided to redecorate my house this year as one of my new years resolutions and I found this blog inspiring.
