Hello Lovelys!

I hope you’re having a great weekend!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank EVERYONE from the bottom of my heart for all of your support!  Since starting this blog in the Fall of last year, almost 1 year ago today, I didn’t know exactly where this journey was going to take me, how long it would last, or if I would even enjoy it. I can honestly say that it has been an awesome experience and I have enjoyed every minute of it!  I love blogging about design!  I love doing projects around the house and sharing them with the world.  I love learning from other people.  I love being able to support other women doing the same thing I am.  It’s an amazing feeling to be supported by other women in business, most of them, complete strangers that offer advice and compliments out of the kindness of their hearts.  Did I mention I love blogging!?!

Being able to share my projects on this platform has lit a fire in me that I always wanted to ignite but never had the time.  I am so thankful to have this opportunity and even more thankful for all of you  who have followed me via email, Instagram @lemonstolovelys, Facebook- Lemons to Lovelys, and Pinterest.

I am proud to announce that Lemons to Lovelys has surpassed 1,000 followers on Instagram & Facebook and has achieved over 17,000 page views on the website!  Although I am not driven to blog by counting my followers and watching them increase, I am thankful for the unending support that I have received in the process and I HAVE TO CELEBRATE this exciting accomplishment with you!  Thank you, all of you, for reading my posts, leaving comments, asking questions, correcting my mistakes, encouraging me to continue, and teaching me along the way!  I learn so much from other DIY-ers out there, it inspires me to grow everyday, and that’s what keeps me driven!

For those of you who are new to the blog, I’d like to re-introduce myself.  My name is Marci and I live in South Louisiana with my husband, curly headed little boy, and our fox red lab.  I love anything to do with interior design, DIY projects, painting & restoring old furniture, creating home decor, styling, finding second hand treasures, and turning lemons into something lovely!

This blog is inspired by my obsession to always have a project. The name came from my new motto after going through a hard time that changed my life forever! During my pregnancy I was stuck at home, due to a spinal leak in my inner ear called a Perilymphatic Fistula that caused the worst vertigo you could imagine. Losing the ability to drive, work, and even walk sometimes left me with no choice but to make the best of my time at home. During this period, all I wanted to do was nest! But how was I going to do this when some days I could barely move?! That’s when I learned to lean on others to turn a sour, “lemon” of a situation into something lovely! Thanks to my amazing friends and husband, we were able to create, what I believe to be, a welcoming environment for the new baby and everyone who would soon step in to care for us after delivery and surgery. With each post, I hope to show that it doesn’t require a lot of money to make a home lovely! All you need is the right paint and a little creativity to turn a lemon into something lovely!
