Styling for Sallie Bynum Art

Hello Lovelys!

I hope your year has gotten off to a great start.

I’ve been decluttering like crazy over here. Once all the Christmas stuff gets packed up, I just can’t stop the madness until every single drawer, closet, shelf, and room has been purged and organized. Such a mess in the process but a great feeling when its all said and done with!

So if you read my last post, “Review of 2016”, I mentioned that it in September of last year I had the pleasure of styling a photo shoot for my dear friend and amazingly talented artist, Sallie Bynum Anzelmo.

This girl can paint y’all!

I’ve mentioned her on my blog and Instagram a few times before when she was a budding new artist but in the past few years her business has REALLY taken off!

She is incredibly talented, insanely creative, and has a keen eye for taking elements in nature and turning them into beautiful works of art. She expanded her talent from commission paintings to home decor. You can find her hand painted glasses, coasters, key chains, and dishes in stores all across the country and in her Etsy shop.

So when she asked me to style a photoshoot for her, I was beyond thrilled!

I absolutely love every single thing she makes and styling is my passion so it was an all around amazing experience for me! Not only did I get to spend hours surrounded by beautiful, hand made home decor pieces and art, I got to work with some amazing women, all small business owners and entrepreneurs.

One of these women I can actually call a new friend. She has literally shown me the way in the world of photography! She is an amazing photographer, relatively new to the Northshore, that I would recommend to anyone! Her name is Sarah Alleman and she shoots everything from weddings, boudoir, and engagement photos, to babies, children, seniors, families and products! Sarah is so kind and wonderful, I just know God brought us together at this shoot for a reason.

I also had the pleasure of working with Erin Nugent and Lauren Beth Landry from Five Seasons Cooking. Together, they self published a cook book called “Five Seasons, A Guide to Seasonal Cooking” . It’s a beautiful book based on the seasons of cooking. A friend of mine gave me this cook book for my birthday last year and I have to say, the photos in it make me want to cook way more than I actually do. Their cookbook contains lots of drool worthy photos, each one styled by Erin & Lauren. My favorite is the one in the very beginning next to the “About” page where they are sitting in front of a MASSIVE teepee sprawled out behind a gorgeous picnic scene. You have to see it! Come to find out, the teepee was a gift from Erin’s husband for her birthday! How cool is that?!?

Talking to these women at the shoot was great because I got to hear their stories first hand about how the book came to be, where they learned to cook, and where this venture has taken them.
