Welcome back for Week 6 of the One Room Challenge!  Today is THE day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   The day you and I have both been waiting for, for 6 long weeks!!!   So much hard work crammed into 6 action packed weeks and I am thrilled to show you the final reveal of our powder bath remodel!!

First, before I show you the finished room, let’s look back at what my powder bathroom looked like from Day 1.

*Warning, in the words of Cruella Deville, “it is RETCHED darling”…..

Powder Bath Remodel- “To-Do” List By Weeks 

WEEK 1

    1. deside on design board
    2. order wallpaper & light fixture

    3. purchase all materials

      WEEK 2

  1. remove all cabinet doors and drawer plates from vanity
  2. clean all cabinet & vanity surfaces, trim, and door with TSP and prep for sanding/painting
  3. scuff sand cabinet doors and vanity
  4. wipe down all surfaces with wet rag that were sanded to remove dust
  5. spackle holes & mirror corners
  6. tape off floors around vanity with painters tape
  7. prime vanity with Stix
  8. prime walls and mirror with Aqua Lock

WEEK 3

  1. paint vanity with Sabre Gray by Benjamin Moore
  2. paint mirror
  3. scrape mirror with razor blade
  4. measure and cut X trim and square trim for cabinets
  5. glue trim to cabinets with cement
  6. secure trim to cabinets with finish nailer
  7. measure and cut chair rail
  8. sand down edges of chair rail
  9. find studs in wall with stud finder
  10. glue chair rail to wall
  11. secure chair rail to wall with finishing nailer

WEEK 4

  1. measure wall and draw out wainscoting placement
  2. tape wainscoting to wall with painters tape
  3. secure wainscoting to wall with finish nailer
  4. spackle holes in chair rail and wainscot
  5. caulk corners and edges of chair rail and wainscot
  6. scuff sand back of door
  7. prime back of door with Stix
  8. paint door with 2 coats of Sabre Gray by Benjamin Moore
  9. paint trim & chair rail with Simply White by Benjamin Moore
  10. install light fixture 
  11. schedule wallpaper installer

WEEK 5

  1. watch wallpaper guy install wallpaper 
  2. prime cabinet doors
  3. caulk edges around new trim of cabinet doors & spackle holes
  4. paint cabinet doors with Sabre Gay by Benjamin Moore
  5. hang doors and drawer plates back on vanity 

WEEK 6

  1. install hardware to drawers and cabinets
  2. place bathroom accessories and new rug
  3. clean bathroom & remove all painters tape
  4. go on vacation
