Neutral Winter Home Decor

Hello everyone!

If you are following the Neutral Winter Home Tour in order, you’re joining me from My Modern Farmhaus.  If you missed Jami’s post, go check out her beautiful home looking so pretty for the winter!

Why I Use Neutral Winter Home Decor

First on the priorities list after the holidays was to take down all the Christmas decor.  As sad as I was to see it go, it was necessary because after New Years Day, Christmas decorations begin to look like clutter instead of pretty embellishments.  So I was very relieved to check that task off my list, even though it was only a few days ago.  But I did leave a few little touches of Winter around the mantel for 2 reasons….

  1. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with it next (scheming up a big change) and I don’t like to leave it naked.  (Just keeping it real)
  2. Winter in South Louisiana doesn’t truly begin until after Christmas. (big time bummer). February is usually our coldest month, even though I’m freezing my toes off right now as I sit and write this.

So, when Kathy from A Delightsome Life asked me if I would participate in a Winter Blog Hop, I knew in the midst of baby chaos, I would still be up for the challenge!

Here are some photos of my Neutral Winter Home Decor…

During the winter months, I find myself parked in front of the fireplace for hours at a time.  Last year, I almost caught the ottoman on fire because it sat too close to the fire for so long.  Good thing I saw the smoke before it was too late! Here is a view of our mantel at night time.  Keep in mind these photos were taken at 10pm when not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…. My favorite time of day!

Well, that’s all for today.  You can find me in that white chair by the fire for the rest of the day, surfing the web, checking out everyone’s blogs.
