Little girl room decor is so fun to pick out! Read on to see the adorable mood board I created with links to shop this pretty pink girl room!
Little girl room decor has endless possibilities! Since moving to a new house, we have also made the switch from a baby nursery to a little girl room, aka “a big girl room”.
When designing this room for my daughterl, I thought back to all the things I wanted in my room at her age: anything and everything pink, bows, soft frilly patterns, girly toys, and more pink! I always like to start with a mood board in order to organize my design ideas and make sure everything works together….
Wallpaper
I have wanted this pink and white bow wallpaper since I was a little girl watching the movie “It Takes Two” . I cannot believe it has come back around! The character Alyssa had a similar pattern in her room at her Dad’s lakehouse if you need a little blast from the past. The ribbon bow print is such a classic! To purchase this wallpaper click here. I think it’s going to make the perfect backdrop for a girly little girl room.
Pillows
I found the most adorable fabric to compliment the wallpaper and make the room feel extra girly! I’m using this pink stripe pattern for the euro shams and this girly paisley print for the long bolster pillow. See design board above for visual. If I have some left over fabric I’m hoping to also have a slipcover made for the headboard just like I did in my son’s room.
Drapes
I’m going to reuse the drapes from her nursery because they have bows on them already and will compliment the bow wallpaper. To purchase these drapes click here.
Her Toys
I’ve decided that since her room in our new house is bigger than her nursery and has 2 closets with way more storage, I’m going to let her keep all of her toys in her room instead of in the playroom. I may end up regretting this decision if the toys become a distraction at bedtime, but for right now it seems to be working well and really cuts down on the clutter of toys being strung all over the house! These are her favorite toys and the furniture for playtime that we keep out in her room…
(not the exact one we have because ours has been discontinued but this one is pink & white and precious too!)
(same tea set we have in a different pattern. Perfect for toddlers and up. Comes in 7 patterns)
Toy Storage
Toy storage is key in cutting down on toy clutter! The only way this little girl room can stay pretty is with proper storage and organization systems in place. We have a basket designated for stuffed animals and baby dolls, tea sets, kitchen toys, and dress up clothes. Every family’s needs are different and kid storage can seem daunting! However, as long as there is an easy system in place for children to utilize, keeping a neat and tidy room is very possible for kids! I’ve linked several different options for kid storage below, some we have and some we don’t….
Extra Wide Dresser Storage Tower
(comes in several colors)
Pink & White Cotton Rope Storage Basket
(I have a cube shelf in each of my kids closets and the playroom)
Set 4 Multi Pattern Foldable Baskets
I am so excited about this little girl room for my daughter I can hardly wait for it to be finished! I’ll be back soon with pictures of the room with all of her new big girl pillows!
Very nice, Marci! Good job. I looked at all of your storage things on your Amazon links, so nice and so helpful. You should do a book like the “Home Edit” ladies. I LOVE that show. Anyway, good job!
Thank you so much!!!!!! I had Clea and Joanna in mind!
