Books for kids make the best gifts! Check out this list of our favorite books for little boys and girls and add a new book to your library today!
We love reading books over here!! As a former preschool teacher, I have witnessed first hand how important it is to read to children as often as possible. Studies show that reading to young children every day as early as birth can improve language skills and reduce the likelihood of hyperactivity and aggressive behaviors later on. Not to mention a slew of other benefits! To spark a child’s interest in reading both in my classrooms and at home, I have learned successful story time happens when reading in a designated place that is cozy and inviting for long periods of time. Books make great gifts!

How To Create A Reading Nook For Kids
- First, find the perfect spot such as an empty corner, alcove, or tent. (you may need to rearrange your furniture)
- Second, make it comfortable and cozy with pillows and/or blankets
- Third, make sure there is enough light for reading. If your space is naturally dark, consider adding some portable reading lights. I’ve linked our favorites here and here.
- Store books near the nook in a cute way. Consider using interesting and non-conventional items as shelving such as a plant shelf, old lockers, refurbished wooden shelf, acrylic wall shelves, picture ledges, wooden crates, or an adorable themed book shelf made specifically for kids.
These shelves are sold out but I found a very similar set that are sold in a pack of 2.
