Laundry Room Sink - Which One I Chose and Why

A laundry room sink, also called a utility sink, can be a major convenience if you have the space for one in your home. Read on to see the laundry room sink I chose for our new laundry room and why I love it!

A laundry room sink is an added perk for your home. Being able to stand in close proximity of the washing machine to soak clothes and treat stains is a game changer!

I also find a laundry sink to be multi-functional for more purposes than just laundry. Let’s discuss why I feel they are so important and which one I chose to fit all of our needs.

Do you really need a sink in your laundry room?

In my opinion, the answer is YES!!! Actually, double yes! My past 2 laundry rooms did not have sinks . I’m here to tell you, having a sink is 10 times better! If you have the space, installing a sink in your laundry room can add convenience for hand-washing, treating stains, watering plants, cleaning up after crafts, washing pets, etc. Basically anything messy that involves soaking for long periods of time or scrubbing things that are particularly dirty, can be done more conveniently in a utility sink!

How deep should a utility sink be?

It should be extra deep in comparison to a kitchen sink to allow vigorous scrubbing or spraying of water with minimum splashing outside the basin. Utility sinks typically start at 10 inches deep and go up to as much as 25 inches. Compare this to a bathroom sink which is typically 6 to 8 inches deep.

My laundry room sink and why I love it…
